Review title of BuilDropbox Mobile Function Deficient
Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 is the latest sync software release for Windows Mobile-powered devices. ActiveSync provides a great synchronization experience with Windows®-powered PCs and Microsoft Outlook right out of the box. Note: Microsoft ActiveSync works only with Windows XP SP2 or earlier. Windows install steps. Download the Box Sync Setup EXE file. Open the EXE file from where the file was downloaded to Windows, and follow the installation instructions. Box Sync starts automatically when the installation completes. Your synced files are stored in a new folder called Box Sync.
The Dropbox Mobile is lacking key features that I had expected having used the Dropbox IOS app for iPhone or iPad. For example, it does not offer integration with the MS Office file system to allow one to create and save files as does the IOS app. It does not offer an apparent smart sync function as does the IOS app whereby one can minimize critical storage space on Microsoft Surface family. Dropbox Mobile is currently function-deficient when compared to the IOS version. I was hoping that my newly purchased Surface Book 2 would give me the utility that I have grown accustomed to on my iPad with the same amount of memory. For me to minimize Dropbox file space with smart sync I need to upgrade my Dropbox Plus subscription to Dropbox Professional at an additional $100. This seems like a marketing branding constraint. Dropbox Cloud is a critical need for me. On the iPad it is a fantastic offering. I just cannot wean myself from the iPad and use the Surface like I was hoping.
Box Sync gives you a quick and intuitive way to selectively sync your files across all of your devices, so you always have access to what you need when you need it. Take advantage of easy drag-and-drop techniques to keep your files organized with just a few clicks through this app's handy interface.
Pros
Add and remove: Adding and removing files from your Box couldn't be easier through this program's handy drag-and-drop feature. Just drop in the files you want to sync, and you'll quickly see them on all of your other devices. And to save space, you can just as easily remove files from your Box Sync folder when you don't need urgent access to them anymore.
Direct sharing: This app also supports quick direct sharing of files with friends and colleagues. All you have to do is add users to your Homegroup, and then you can choose whether they can access the files as Read Only or as Read and Write. You can also share with individual users if you have something you don't want to send out to the whole group.

Cons
Crashes: The app did crash several times during testing when we tried to open the Box folder. Restarting the program and trying again always fixed the problem, but it could get a little frustrating if it continues happening.
Bottom Line

Box Sync is a convenient way to keep the files you need most right at your fingertips. The basic mechanics for adding and removing files make it very smooth to use, and the auto-sharing features facilitate collaboration nicely. The app is free for one user with up to 10GB of storage and a maximum file upload size of 250MB. Pricing and storage options increase from there, but all are available to try for free for 14 days.
