Set A Light 3d Studio Serial Port
Posted : admin On 29.08.2019What are you using set.a.light 3D for? Apr 10, 2014 1 Hi, a friend and I are in a studio club where 11 amateur photographers rent a studio. He showed me set.a.light 3D and asked if we would buy it together because you can use the license key on two machines. Yes you need to live in one household to use it but that is practically what. A copy of set.a.light 3D STUDIO will set you back €140 ($184) through the Elixxier online store, but the company is also offering a feature-limited trial version that you can play with for 15 days. LEDs are taking over conventional lighting every day. High-power LEDs over 1W are becoming more and more affordable, and I wanted to start using them to replace the lighting fixtures around me. However I realize that finding and configuring the power supply was a bit of a pain, since I wanted to use different LEDs in different configurations depending on what the lighting was for. Power supply needs to regulate the current that goes though the LEDs. With higher current that high-power LEDs require, active constant current circuit is the only practical option. Commercially available buck regulators are easy to use, however, they are usually made for a specific current and voltage range. For me that means having to purchase variety of buck drivers.
Also, most of LED drivers lack dimming function, or have poorly functioning dimmers. I think dimming is essential for modern lighting, and I want smooth control of brightness.
So I decided to develop a universal, dimmerable high-power LED controller. It has taken me four months to develop this controller. Although it's still in development, I think it's quite useful to all DYI'ers with LED lighting projects.
I made this an Open Source project. Both hardware and software are open - please use, and extend this project and share the knowledge. A 3D printable enclosure as well as couple of LED mounting hardware is also available as Open Source, download-able at Thingverse. Together you can really kick start LED conversion of your household lighting!
Sometimes I wonder why I can’t sleep that good. It happens often is a big shoot is on my plan for the next day, I ask myself “Is my light plan right, did I miss something, is there something to improve?”. As a child of the computerized generation, I was wondering if there is a software to simulate light setups. There are different ideas out there on the web, some use Blender to simulate light, others tried Cinema 4D. I’ve tried some of the provided project files, but … well … I am not a 3D-Guy, so I struggled with the UI of Blender and Cinama 4D. The I found set.a.alight 3D and some things changed. set.a.light 3D has a very clean UI, is easy to use and performs as expected. Here are some things you can set up:
- room size (so you can really set up YOUR studio)
- wall and floor colors
- a wide variety of lighting modifiers grids and gels
- studio flashes and speedlights
- different models with changeable clothings and poses (with one model animated)
- Utilities like backdrops, boxed, plants, a sofa with free dimensions

Lexmark x7350 printer drivers free download. And last but not least, you can set up the Camera:
- Crop-factor
- focal length
- aperture
- orientation: portrait / landscape
As soon as you finished your setup, you can render the result – and this is pretty close to what it looks in “real” light.

If you show mood pictures to a model, they tend to compare themselves with the model on the photo. Most of the time you get messages like “I am not that skinny” or “where do we get that parachute from?” (don’t ask…). If you provide 3D-rendered images, everything is abstract and the model done not want (or subconsciously motivated) to copy exactly what they see. They will try to create their own interpretation, which is a good thing and leads to very relaxed shooting. Here are some sample setups, along with the controls to make them. Right now, I am planning our (Kamerakind) new studio and I’ve found out: Set.a.light is helpful as an architecture program as well. I’ve set up the room size and, I’ve found out that our studio is too small for a full body shot with my favorite lens (85mm). Well… I should have tried that before signing the contract, but at least I will not be disappointed if I use my camera the first time in the studio. Here is the new Studio-plan: set.a.alight 3D comes as two versions:
- basic version for $39.90
- Studio version for $139,90
